Official information about the All Event tickets at the Staples Center in Los Angeles during 2009 Worlds has just recently arrived well ahead of time!  Thankfully Angela Hildebrandt and I went early to visit LA last April – we loved the revitalization of the city and became very familiar with our stomping ground.  We watched a basketball game from high up in the Staples Center and visited every hotel and nearby area on foot!

Over the years we’ve been very fortunate to secure excellent seats for our group and happily, 2009 will be no exception!  Our seats will be in rows 2-12 across from the judges and will provide us with fabulous viewing!  In addition to the seats’ proximity to the ice, we will also have access to the private arena restaurant overlooking the rink which will be closed to all other seating areas. Because the skating tickets are definitely the most important piece in the package, I’m delighted with the wonderful location of our seats.

Initially I was somewhat surprised at the price of the ticket package – US $1,315.00, however viewed on a per event basis the cost is actually quite modest per seat for a major sporting event in a world class city.  The price is the same for all, the general public, individuals and groups alike. LA is definitely a luxury oriented city and it seems the tickets have been priced accordingly.  Just think of it – every world class skater will be in LA, the last World Championships before the Vancouver Olympics.  You just can’t miss this event!

The second part of the equation is the hotel. After visiting every possible hotel offered to us in LA, we both selected the Sheraton Hotel to be our group’s home during Worlds.  It’s located in a shopping area, just 4 blocks from the rink.  We believe this combination of skating tickets and hotel will be just ideal for our group – the best possible skating seats plus a very comfortable and the most conveniently located hotel.  What more can you ask?!
